Chapter 38: We'll do as you say!
Wang Yu noticed Su Jingtong's hesitation and added fuel to the fire: "Jingtong, think about it. If this is true, wouldn't you have been deceived by him? He married you while flirting with other women. Are you really going to protect someone like that?"
Su Jingtong's heart was completely shaken.
She gritted her teeth, hardened her heart, and said, "Fine! We'll do it your way!"
Wang Yu and Xu Dan exchanged a smile.
The three of them got together and discussed it carefully, then fabricated a story about an "affair" between Jiang Yang and Li Wen.
The three split up and began spreading rumors throughout the village and town.
After Su Jingtong and Xu Dan left, Jiang Yang felt a sense of peace and quiet.
He shook his head, putting those unpleasant thoughts behind him, and focused on decorating the clothing store.
He meticulously inspected every detail, ensuring that every corner was flawless.
Time passed by, and thanks to Jiang Yang's efforts, the renovation of the clothing store was finally nearing completion.
Jiang Yang wiped the sweat from his forehead, looked around with satisfaction, and everything looked brand new.
At this moment, Li Wen arrived at the clothing store with several clothing design drawings.
She wore a simple white shirt and black trousers today, looking both capable and elegant.
"Jiang Yang, take a look at these drawings. I've made some changes." Li Wen handed the drawings to Jiang Yang, her tone subtly conveying anticipation.
Jiang Yang took the blueprints and carefully examined them.
These drawings are more complete than the previous ones, with better attention to detail and more novel and fashionable designs.
"Great! You've made great progress. You truly deserve to be my chief designer!" Jiang Yang praised with a smile.
Li Wen smiled faintly when she heard Jiang Yang's praise.
"The clothing store's renovation is basically complete; all that's left is the final cleaning."
Jiang Yang pointed to the newly renovated storefront and said, "I'll revise the blueprints again tonight and deliver them to your house tomorrow morning. Then you can go find Zhou Qingqing and make the sample according to the previous procedures and requirements. Thank you for supervising."
"No problem," Li Wen readily agreed.
"I'll go buy some interior decoration parts for the clothing store tomorrow, like hangers, cloakrooms, mirrors, and so on. The clothing store will be open to the public soon," Jiang Yang continued.
The two chatted about the clothing store for a while, and then Jiang Yang rode his motorcycle to take Li Wen home.
After returning home, Jiang Yang began revising the clothing design drawings.
He revised nearly thirty sets of drawings, each one a labor of love.
The next morning, Jiang Yang, carrying the revised blueprints, rode his motorcycle to Li Wen's house.
"Li Wen! The blueprints are ready!" Jiang Yang shouted at the top of his lungs.
A moment later, Li Wen appeared at the door, wearing a light yellow dress and a ponytail, looking youthful and beautiful.
"So early?" Li Wen took the drawings, unfolded them, and looked at them. "There are quite a few changes."
"Striving for perfection, that's what we mean." Jiang Yang grinned. "Once the sample is made, our clothing store is more than half done."
"Don't worry, I've got it covered!" Li Wen patted her chest confidently.
Jiang Yang nodded and started his motorcycle: "I have to go now, I'll contact you later."
The motorcycle kicked up a cloud of dust and quickly disappeared around the street corner.
Jiang Yang first went to the furniture market and picked out a few simple sofas and light-colored curtains.
Then they found Old Zhao, a well-known carpenter in town, and asked him to help them build a cash register.
Finally, he went to the blacksmith's shop and ordered a batch of sturdy and durable clothes hangers.
After a busy morning, Jiang Yang delivered the sofa and curtains he had bought to the clothing store.
In the afternoon, Old Zhao and the blacksmith also delivered the finished cash register and clothes rack.
Jiang Yang directed them to arrange the items, and as he watched the clothing store gradually take shape, he felt a great sense of accomplishment.
In the evening, Li Wen arrived at the clothing store carrying several large bags.
"Jiang Yang, the sample garment is finished!" Li Wen shouted excitedly.
Jiang Yang quickly went to greet him, took the bag, and carefully examined each item.
"Not bad, not bad!" Jiang Yang nodded as he looked at the food. "Zhou Qingqing's skills are getting better and better."
He picked up a modified cheongsam and examined it closely: "The stitching and the seams are simply impeccable."
Li Wen smiled smugly when she heard his praise.
Jiang Yang picked up another dress and pointed to the neckline, saying, "I think this area could be improved with some lace trim; it would look even better."
“Yes, I think so too.” Li Wen nodded in agreement.
Jiang Yang pointed out several areas that needed modification, which Li Wen carefully noted down.
"Everything else is fine, we can start mass production now," Jiang Yang said. "In a few more days, our clothing store can officially open!"
Li Wen clenched her fist excitedly: "Great! We're finally opening!"
As night fell, Jiang Yang, carrying several carefully selected sample garments, set off for the newspaper office.
The motorcycle stopped in front of the newspaper office.
Jiang Yang turned off the engine, dusted himself off, and strode inside.
"Is Miss Emily here?" Jiang Yang asked the receptionist.
"Yes, please wait a moment." The receptionist picked up the phone and dialed the internal line.
A moment later, Emily came out of the office.
"Jiang Yang? What's wrong so late?" Emily asked with a hint of surprise.
"I'd like to ask you for a favor." Jiang Yang waved the package in his hand. "I have a few new clothes that I'd like you to try on and see how they look."
A flicker of curiosity crossed Emily's eyes: "Oh? You designed this? Let me see it."
Jiang Yang opened the package and took out the clothes one by one.
There are modernized cheongsams and fashionable dresses; each piece is exquisitely crafted and features novel designs.
Emily tried on one garment after another, and with each new one, she seemed like a completely different person.
The modified cheongsam accentuated her graceful figure, while the fashionable dress showcased her youthful and lively side.
Jiang Yang nodded in satisfaction. As expected of a beautiful foreign writer, this dress was the perfect finishing touch on her.
Emily looked at herself in the mirror, a delighted smile spreading across her face: "Jiang Yang, you're a genius! These clothes are so beautiful!"
Jiang Yang was secretly delighted.
The first step of the plan was a success!
“My clothing store is about to open,” Jiang Yang said, seizing the opportunity. “I hope you can help me write some promotional articles, and it would be best if you could attract some investors.”
Emily pondered for a moment and said, "Several foreign friends have heard that Jiang'an County is going to develop a new special economic zone and are preparing to invest in some businesses, but they haven't found a suitable business opportunity yet."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yang immediately perked up and volunteered, "My clothing store is a sure-fire way to make money. As long as you invest, you'll get unexpected returns!"
He began to talk at length to Emily about his business plans.
