Chapter 27 The Tomb of the Dead Emperor
Chapter 27 The Tomb of the Dead Emperor
Upon hearing the term "demon sealing," Di Xing had a bad feeling.
At that moment, he noticed an adjustable bar chart appearing in the lower right corner of his field of vision. The bar chart was higher on the left and lower on the right, with a reassuring emerald green on the right and a shocking blood red on the left.
What unsettled Di Xing was that the selection pointer was currently stuck in the blood-red area on the far left. He tried adjusting the pointer, but found it was completely useless.
"Don't waste your energy. This is one of our police privileges. We can force the simulated damage to the maximum level, ensuring that suspicious individuals like you are knocked unconscious and taken away."
Does simulated damage mean that if your health is damaged, your physical body will also be damaged? Why didn't my original Bone Duel Disk have this effect?
But he had indeed been injured during the duel. Could it be that the Duel Disk had forcibly activated it? Thinking this, Di Xing couldn't help but curse inwardly, but Ming didn't give him more time to vent his emotions.
"During my turn, I Normal Summon [Fossil Dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus] (Earth/Rock, Level 4, 1200/1300), Set two cards, and end this turn."
Pachycephalosaurus!? No wonder it forces you to go first; it's a deck that blocks Special Summoning. While Pachycephalosaurus is on the field, neither player can Special Summon monsters. This is definitely a nuisance for mainstream decks.
Hehe, but the synergy between White Bones and Soul-type decks isn't that great. At most, it just cuts off an arm, uh, that seems pretty bad too.
In his "My Turn to Draw Cards" event, Di Xing drew [White Bone King]. He checked his hand: his initial cards were [Call of the Mummy], [Whirlwind], [Rescue Hedgehog], [Fallen Warrior], and [White Bone Princess].
Good grief, the Mummy's Cry and Rescue Hedgehog are essentially banned. Rescue Hedgehog (Earth/Beast 4-star 300/100) was a card he bought from the shopkeeper.
You can banish this card from the field to Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Normal Monster and 1 Level 3 or lower Effect Monster from your Deck. The effects of the monsters Special Summoned by this effect are negated, and they are destroyed during the End Phase.
In the Bone Deck, you can Special Summon one "Bone Roast King" and one "Bone," then use these two cards to Link Summon a newly acquired "Vampire Eater," triggering the Bone Roast King's Graveyard effect.
But now this chain is completely useless; decks that block Special Summoning are really annoying. "I Normal Summon [Fallen Warrior], activate its effect, and send [Bone King] from my deck to the graveyard."
"Activate the special effect of [Bone King]: Add one [Bone Lord] and one [Bone Prince] from your Deck to your hand, then send the [Bone Prince] from your hand to the Graveyard. If the [Bone Prince] is in the Graveyard, send the Bone Couple from your Deck to the Graveyard."
"Then, I send the [Bone Lord] from my hand to the graveyard, and send cards equal to the number of Bone Lords in my graveyard from the top of my deck to the graveyard. I have 5 Bone Lords in my graveyard, so I send 5 cards from the top of my deck to the graveyard." Tsk, not a single Bone Lord.
"I'll activate [Whirlwind] again to destroy that face-down card on your left side of the field." A whirlwind shattered Ming's face-down card on the field—it was Scrap Scarecrow. Not bad, my luck was alright this time.
"I activate another face-down card, [Virtual World]: Add one Field Spell Card from my Deck to my hand."
[Virtual World] should be able to activate Field Spell Cards directly. If it's not activating them, it's probably afraid I'll destroy them. So it seems this Field Spell Card has no resistance and no ability to counter me during my turn. Could it be that card? Di Xing's unease grew stronger.
"【Fallen Warrior】Attack Pachycephalosaurus" The Fallen Warrior crushed the Pachycephalosaurus in one bite, LP 8000 - 500 = 7500, now it can be Special Summoned, unfortunately none of the cards sent to the graveyard earlier could be Special Summoned.
Next turn, it might be sealed again. "Set a card to end this turn." Even though the Mummy's Cry is useless now, it still needs to be set up—it'll scare you to death!
"My turn, draw a card, activate [Pot of Greed], I banish six cards from my Extra Deck, draw two cards, and then activate [Tomb of the Dead Emperor] from my hand."
Wow, it really is this card! So, what's next...?
"I activate the effect of Tomb of the Dead Emperor, paying 1000 Life Points to replace one Tribute, and Normal Summon [Voidfiend] (DARK/Fiend ★6 2400/1200) from my hand)."
"This card cannot be Special Summoned. While on the field, neither player can Special Summon monsters." LP 7500 - 1000 = 6500. A handsome man with long reddish-brown hair, a mask on his left cheek, and a black cloak appeared from nothingness.
As expected of the Void Demon, what a troublesome fellow. By the way, is the Void World of this world banned?
"I'll set a card down to end this round."
Are you scared off by my card blocking? Why aren't you attacking?
"My turn, draw a card. The card I drew is [White Bone Princess]. I will perform a Normal Summon. O King of Bones, rising from the ancient bones, roar in defiance on behalf of all the departed! This strike will pierce heaven and earth! Enter the battlefield, White Bone King! Attack 5000! White Bone King attacks the Void Demon!"
"Activate the Trap Card [Intimidating Roar], you cannot declare an attack this turn."
Di Xing looked at the trap card with a complicated expression. He had been transported to another world shortly after activating this trap card. He had to admit, the effect was indeed powerful. Resistance was useless; a successful activation would forcibly save his life for one turn.
"I switch the Fallen Warrior to defensive position and end this turn," Di Xing said helplessly, ending his turn.
"Draw a card during my turn. I activate [Calling the Stars], return one Level 6 monster from my hand to the bottom of my deck, and draw two cards from my deck."
"I activate the special effect of the Tomb of the Dead Emperor again, paying 2000 Life Points to replace two Tributes to Normal Summon [Void Ruler] (Light/Fairy Level 8 2500/1600). You cannot Special Summon this card while it is on the field."
A long-eared elf dressed in pure white with green hair appeared, gracefully entering the arena amidst drifting black petals.
"I switch [Void Demon] to defensive position and attack your [Fallen Warrior] with [Void Ruler]."
The Fallen Warrior was completely torn apart by the black petal rain released by the Ruler of Nothingness.
"I'll set a card down to end this round."
[Fallen Warrior] originally had the effect of Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower Zombie monster from your Deck when it leaves the field due to an opponent's card effect.
However, with [Voidfiend] and [Void Overlord] on the field, the effect of Fallen Warrior is essentially useless. It seems that not attacking earlier might have been to prevent Voidfiend from being trapped and destroyed. Perhaps we shouldn't restrict its Special Summoning as well.
"My turn, draw a card." The card drawn is [Pot of Greed]. "I also activate [Pot of Greed]. I banish six cards from my Extra Deck and draw two cards."
