Chapter 222 The Two of Us Alone (3)
"I'm sorry." Maya's voice, filled with complex emotions, quickly shifted from Morse, the transition between the tense atmosphere of training and the private conversation sounding unusually natural.
“It’s alright,” Morse said softly, glancing around. “But, Senior Maya…”
Maya paused, her gaze involuntarily fixed on him: "Please set up a small barrier to prevent anyone from finding out."
Morse was always extra careful during training, especially considering the demonic spies within the Academy and the Federation.
"Hmm..." Maya gently closed her eyes, skillfully channeling her magic to quickly weave a hidden barrier around them, ensuring their conversation would not be heard by outsiders.
After the barrier was completed, she turned her gaze to Morse, seeking confirmation.
"Is this alright?" Maya asked, her eyes deep, her red eyes meeting his.
“Yes, no problem.” Morse nodded after a moment’s thought, his gaze still fixed on her, his tone calm, as if he had expected all of this.
"Well... I'm sorry to have bothered you," Maya said softly.
Before he could respond, Maya gave him a gentle push, effortlessly knocking him to the ground. Her movements were fluid and without hesitation. She then climbed on top of him. Morse did not resist at all, trusting Maya completely and letting her do as she pleased.
The atmosphere within the small barrier became tense, filled with unspoken tension and anticipation. Maya's behavior teetered on the edge between reason and identity; she was both a vampire and a human.
Maya leaned closer to him, her gaze fixed on the wound on his arm. Without hesitation, she lowered her head and gently licked the wound with the tip of her tongue.
Suck!
This intimate act was a mixture of primal desire and unspoken connection, with Maya seeking solace in his very blood.
So delicious... This is it... This is it...
She couldn't help but marvel at the unique flavor; even just tasting a drop of blood flowing from his veins was enough to intoxicate her.
More...more...
After licking the wound on her arm, savoring the last few drops of blood, she raised her head and fixed her gaze on Morse's pale neck. Under the light, his skin looked particularly alluring, and Maya felt her desire becoming increasingly difficult to suppress.
"Yours..." she murmured softly, opening her mouth.
"Mine?" Morse replied, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.
"Your neck is beautiful."
"..."
In an instant, Maya could not resist the desire in her heart and bit his neck.
"Uh--"
Morse let out a soft groan, a slight reaction to the pain, his body trembling slightly from the sudden intrusion, but after a moment, he gradually calmed down.
The sounds of Maya sucking echoed in the room.
Glug! Glug!
Her eyes grew even deeper from the taste of blood, her senses were briefly overwhelmed, and she temporarily forgot herself.
This time, however, she wasn't as frenzied as before, nor did she suckle like a greedy beast. Instead, she savored it more delicately. Maya didn't want to put too much burden on his body. She could sense that Morse's body was very fragile and could collapse at any moment under her power.
"Haa...haa..." Her breathing became more and more rapid. As time went by, she suddenly realized something, stopped, retracted her fangs, and heard his heavy breathing.
"Wait..." Morse's voice pulled her back to reality. She opened her eyes wide and assessed her junior's condition.
"Are you alright?" Maya asked, her voice filled with concern and guilt.
“It’s alright, it won’t last long this time,” Morse replied, touching the wound on his neck. Without Sylvie’s blessing, his current body wasn’t strong enough to fully meet her needs.
“That…” Maya lowered her head and looked at his body.
How did he do that?
She was puzzled. They were so close now that Maya could feel his skin and sense the power within him. There was no doubt that he was far less powerful than Maya.
At such close range, unless the opponent is a powerful being of the [Venerable] level, it is impossible to conceal one's strength.
But he couldn't be the "Venerable One," so there's only one possibility left.
"What's wrong with me?" Morse's words startled Maya, who was clearly unprepared for the question.
"What?" she stammered, unsure how to answer.
"You've been...smelling me."
“…I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to.” Maya hurriedly explained, realizing the confusion in his words. In fact, his scent, a mixture of his unique body odor and the sweat left after training, was quite pleasant.
“You smell wonderful,” she said unconsciously, her gaze lowered.
“Uh… okay.” Morse nodded, looking somewhat embarrassed.
Maya shook her head, trying to change the subject, but the close contact, his scent, and the desire within her brought her back to the familiar path.
I'll ask him that question later.
"Sorry……"
"No need to apologize..."
Glug! Glug!
Without thinking further, Maya lunged at his neck again, sucking for a few moments until she finally felt satisfied. She pulled away from his neck, a complex mix of satisfaction and guilt swirling in her heart. At that moment, her desires were temporarily satisfied.
As her urge to eat subsided, she felt a strange weakness, and her legs collapsed weakly onto Morse, her head resting against his chest. The position seemed exceptionally intimate, and in the ensuing silence, only the echoes of their heartbeats could be heard.
Boom!Boom!
Maya felt her heart beating rhythmically, her emotions complex. The red in her eyes gradually faded, her gaze softened, and a sense of tranquility enveloped her.
She temporarily forgot the consequences of her actions, replaced by a strange sense of intimacy, and suddenly asked herself.
If this is what I'm like after five days of not drinking blood, what should I do in the future?
She couldn't help but ask herself, what was the difference between herself and those monsters she loathed? Was there any difference at all?
These questions lingered in her mind, igniting the emotions she had been trying to suppress.
As Morse's heartbeat rhythmically echoed in her ears, the rhythmic tone, like a lullaby, temporarily calmed her turmoil.
Suddenly, Maya remembered something—a gift she had prepared for him to express her gratitude. She hated always being the one receiving; Morse had saved her and given her blood, so she thought she should give him something in return.
But what could compare to her life? What could be exchanged for her life, something both important and worthy of reciprocation?
"Junior brother." Maya called out to him, moved slightly, reached for her spatial bracelet, and took out a small, carefully preserved herb.
"This is for you." She handed him a box, an extremely expensive box, whose value could be discerned at a glance.
"What is this?" Morse looked at the box and realized that what he saw was no ordinary object.
"This is a gift for you."
"My gift?"
"Yes, for everything you've done for me, and for everything you're doing now."
You don't need...
“No.” Maya didn’t want him to refuse. She knew his suspicious nature and knew he was unwilling to accept her feelings.
“This is what you deserve. I don’t like it when I’m the only one receiving it,” Maya firmly refused his offer.
Morse paused, looking at the box in his hand, then into Maya's eyes.
"Sigh..." he sighed deeply. "I understand."
He accepted the gift, opened the box, and instantly, powerful energy was released into the room.
"What?" Morse was shocked by the energy in the herb, while Maya couldn't help but smile smugly.
“You look surprised, junior. Don’t tell me you don’t know what this is?” she teased, enjoying the moment.
Morse regained his composure: "This is Starflower Essence. It can enhance mana absorption, promote physical growth, improve physique, and increase the upper limit of talent."
Maya raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised: "That's right, this is Star Flower Essence, a rare herb with remarkable effects. Absorbing it before meditation or training will produce very noticeable results."
Morse held the Starflower Essence in his hand, his eyes filled with gratitude and hesitation: "This is too precious, are you sure?"
Maya smiled and shook her head: "This is the reward for everything you've done, and your power is an investment for both of us."
Morse raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity flashing in his eyes: "Investment?"
Maya blushed slightly, realizing that she had inadvertently revealed her true feelings.
Then, in a voice barely above a whisper, she said, “You need to become stronger… so that I can… drink more blood.” She cleared her throat, regaining her composure. “So, you must accept this gift.”
Morse understood that it would be impolite to continue refusing: "Alright, since you put it that way, I'll make good use of it."
Maya smiled, her eyes conveying warmth: "Take care of yourself, junior."
With these words, the small barrier dissipated, and they returned to the training ground. This moment was unusually quiet, and a tacit understanding flowed between the two. Maya nodded, indicating that the conversation was over.
“Thank you,” Morse said, holding the box of starflower essence in his hand.
“You’re welcome,” Maya replied with a smile, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes. “This is the result of your own actions.”
"Senior... this idiom isn't used to describe good things."
"really?"
"real."
"Then I used it wrong..."
And so, the two left the training room and went their separate ways.
