Chapter 1053 Calling the Police
Chapter 1053 Calling the Police
As Mu Xiaoji stepped out of room 53, his subordinate at the door gestured for him to enter, speaking fluent English.
He said, "Doctor, Chairman Feng still needs to be examined. Thank you for your hard work."
Mu Xiaoji nodded and asked in fluent English, "President Feng? Okay, take me to see him."
His subordinate responded and led him to room number 54 next door, pushing open the door.
The room was bathed in sunlight, and an elderly woman with a haggard face lay on the large, white bed.
His hair was as white as frost, dried blood still clung to the corners of his mouth, his chest rose and fell weakly, and his breathing was as disordered as a candle flickering in the wind.
Mu Xiaoji quickly stepped forward, first lifting the old man's eyelids to check his pupils, then placing his fingertips on his wrist pulse.
The touch felt weak and feeble, and he quickly realized that the old man's organs were showing signs of decay, and there was a stagnant feeling in his chest.
Without making a sound, he gathered his inner energy and, through the action of tapping the pulse, slowly channeled it into the old man's body, quietly clearing the blockage.
After a moment, Chairman Feng's breathing gradually stabilized, and his cloudy eyes slowly opened.
She looked around blankly, her gaze finally settling on the young man beside the bed.
He asked in a hoarse voice, "Where...am I? Are you...a doctor?"
Mu Xiaoji slowly finished his practice, his tone calm: "We are in a cabin on the top deck of the Sea Shark cruise ship."
I'm Feng Tao's friend. You must be Feng Tao's father, Chairman Feng?
"Tao'er's friend..." Chairman Feng's eyes flickered slightly, his voice filled with urgency, "Tao'er... has he been rescued too?"
"Yes, he's in the next room, don't worry." Mu Xiaoji nodded, then her tone changed, and a worried look appeared on her face.
"However, your health condition is not good, it seems to be organ damage caused by an overdose of some kind of drug."
That medication must be stopped immediately. With proper treatment following the doctor's instructions, there is still hope for a full recovery.
"Really?" A faint light flashed in Chairman Feng's eyes as he looked up at him. "Young man, what's your name?"
"My name is Mu Xiaoji, you can just call me Xiaoji."
"Dr. Mu..." Chairman Feng gasped for breath, his voice pleading.
"Please find a way to get Tao'er away from the Sea Shark and back to the Governor's Summit Club."
With the elders backing him up there, the Feng brothers, Feng Yan and Feng Zhan, dared not touch him…
Mu Xiaoji frowned: "Who are Feng Yan and Feng Zhan? How dare they be so unscrupulous in front of you?"
"They are my eldest and second sons..." Chairman Feng's voice lowered, filled with regret, "It was my stubbornness that ruined Tao'er... I am ashamed..."
He paused, tears welling in his cloudy eyes: "Tao'er's mother was a silver-haired, blue-eyed foreign lady."
Back when I was involved in land, sea, and ocean shipping, her brother's army was short of supplies and hijacked my ship several times.
I didn't have any serious weapons, so I suffered a lot of losses in silence. It was she, Isabella White, who secretly let me go.
Later, I bought guns on the black market to fight back, but in the end, I was no match for the regular army and lost.
Finally, Isabella pleaded with her brother and then expressed her feelings for me. After repeated negotiations, Daniel Ho persuaded me:
"With this marriage, maritime transport will be unimpeded from now on." I was forced to marry her; I didn't love her at all…
According to our ancestors' rules, there was no such thing as marrying a foreigner. Later, I contacted various government departments to put pressure on the council.
Unable to withstand the storm of public opinion, they pushed Isabella's brother forward to take the blame, and only then did the shipping route become peaceful.
"Later, I met Qiao Man, and she gave birth to Feng Yan and Feng Zhan for me."
I took Qiao Man back to the Feng family manor. Without her brother's support, Isabella could only hide in the West Garden to protect herself in the manor.
Tao'er grew up in that kind of environment... He always saw that I was cold towards his mother.
You thought I didn't like him, but actually... I just couldn't get over that hurdle.
Chairman Feng choked up and couldn't continue, "Later on the Sea Shark, Gu Ze's father lost money and pawned Gu Ze to Boss Shi."
Seeing that the boy was handsome, I asked Boss Shi for a favor, so that he could take Gu Ze away from the Governor's residence.
He said I couldn't come back until I achieved something... At the time, I was only thinking about keeping Tao away from my house, but I didn't think about anything else..."
As he spoke of his sorrow, tears streamed down his face uncontrollably, soaking his pillow: "To be reduced to this state is all my retribution..."
As Mu Xiaoji listened to this story, his face gradually darkened, and his tone turned cold: "So, the death of Uncle Feng Tao was also your doing?"
Chairman Feng trembled, abruptly closed his eyes, and tears flowed even more fiercely.
He couldn't utter a single word; only heavy breathing echoed in the room.
Mu Xiaoji took a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil in her heart, and calmly reassured her:
"President Feng, please don't get agitated. Emotional fluctuations are bad for your health."
The most important thing now is to rest and recover. Leave the rest to me; I will definitely find a way to get Feng Tao away from the Sea Shark.
"Please... Dr. Mu..." Feng Yuanzheng's voice trembled with emotion, and tears welled up in his eyes again. "I, Feng Yuanzheng, will never forget your great kindness..."
Mu Xiaoji turned to the foreign subordinates guarding the door and gave the order in English:
"President Feng needs some saline solution and nutritional supplements. Can you help me get them?"
The subordinate hesitated for a moment, then nodded after thinking for a while: "The boss should have it. I'll report to him and send it to you as soon as possible."
Mu Xiaoji nodded slightly, watching his subordinate turn and leave. The door had just closed when…
He immediately pulled out his phone and quickly dialed the emergency number for maritime emergencies.
Almost simultaneously, in the banquet hall of the Sea Shark, Teng Zijing, Ji Yang, and the mercenaries of Andreas all received a short signal notification sound from the communicators on their waists.
"Someone called the police!" Ji Yang lowered his voice and looked at Teng Zijing, his eyes full of surprise.
Andreas's face darkened, and he clenched his fists: "Who's so bold as to call the police at this hour?"
Jones's secret report came through the earpiece: "Signal source locked, originating from the top-floor guest room."
"Intercept them immediately!" Andreas ordered sharply.
Before Mu Xiaoji could even dial the number, the door was violently pushed open with a bang.
Andy Coles burst in with several of his men, the dark muzzles of guns pointed directly at him.
Mu Xiaoji turned around abruptly, forcing himself to remain calm: "Mr. Andy Coles? Is the physiological serum ready? Chairman Feng urgently needs it..."
Andy Colles' lips curled into a sly smile as he waved the signal jammer in his hand:
"Dear Mu, instead of worrying about the medicine, tell me who you were calling just now? Were you calling the police?"
"I..." Mu Xiaoji was about to explain when Andy Coles waved his hand.
Two henchmen immediately stepped forward, roughly twisted Mu Xiaoji's arm, pressed him to the ground, and quickly tied him up tightly with rope.
"Mr. Andy Coles! Why are you arresting me? Let me go!" Mu Xiaoji struggled, but the ropes tightened even more.
One of his men took the cell phone from his pocket and handed it to Andy Coles.
Andy Colles looked at the undialed number on the screen, his smile growing increasingly wicked:
“Darling, you’re too naive. Since I dare to sail the ship into international waters, I won’t let any distress signals get out.”
He walked up to Mu Xiaoji, squatted down, and spoke in a very low voice, tinged with blood:
"Do you think Feng Yan is a kind person? He's even more ruthless than me."
The Sea Shark has been operating for so many years, how many people have lost everything here? Do you know how many souls are buried beneath these waters?
Mu Xiaoji stared at him, her chest heaving violently, but she couldn't utter a single word.
Andy Coles patted his cheek and stood up: "Take him away and lock him up with the 'guests'."
The subordinate responded and dragged Mu Xiaoji out. As they passed the bedside, Feng Yuanzheng struggled to sit up, but one of the subordinates pressed down on his shoulder.
"President Feng, this has nothing to do with you. Just rest and recover."
Feng Yuanzheng could only watch helplessly as Mu Xiaoji was dragged away, his cloudy eyes filled with nothing but despair.
The door closed again, shutting out the deathly silence inside and the storm outside.
Andy Colliss looked at the dying old man on the bed, his fingertips tracing the shape of his phone, and suddenly smiled—
"This game is getting more and more interesting."
Jones had just reached the top floor and was investigating the signal source when he saw several men in black hurriedly dragging the bound and gagged Mu Xiaoji toward the banquet hall.
He quickly ducked into the shadows around the corner of the corridor, his fingertips rapidly typing a line of text on the communicator:
"Mu has been captured by Andy Coles's men and is being taken to the banquet hall."
Andreas received the news from behind a pillar outside the banquet hall, his brow furrowed.
Through the gaps in the carved railings, he could clearly see those men dragging Mu Xiaoji like a sack of potatoes.
It was thrown onto the cold floor of the banquet hall, handled so roughly as if it were a piece of trash.
"Keep an eye on him." The leader of the men in black gestured with his chin toward the armed men guarding the corner, his tone ruthless. "If he gets lost, you can jump into the sea and feed the fish yourself."
"Yes." The man holding the gun responded, his gaze like a poisoned nail, fixed on Mu Xiaoji, revealing undisguised malice.
Mu Xiaoji struggled to sit up on the cold floor, the black tape around her mouth stinging her cheeks.
It could only make muffled "whooshing" sounds, its chest heaving violently with rapid breathing.
He raised his head and glanced at the people in the banquet hall—a group of mournful faces, their eyes filled with despair and helplessness, like a flock of lambs to the slaughter.
Suddenly, his gaze stopped.
In the crowd, a figure in a gray suit stood out.
Mu Xiaoji's eyes widened suddenly, and muffled breaths escaped from her mouth, which was sealed with tape. A storm raged in her heart:
Teng Zijing? That bearded man, is that Teng Zijing? How come he's locked up here too?
Almost simultaneously, Teng Zijing also noticed his gaze. He didn't even lift his eyelids.
Without making a sound, he turned his face to the other side, his shoulders slightly tense, as if he were just looking at a decorative painting on the wall.
Oblivious to everything around him, Ji Yang, seeing Mu Xiaoji bound like a dumpling, couldn't help but move closer to Teng Zijing.
He muttered in a low voice, "Are these people crazy? They don't even spare someone with mobility issues, and they've tied them up so tightly."
Teng Zijing did not respond, but crossed his arms and pretended to be nonchalant.
Seeing that he ignored him, Ji Yang turned to look at Mu Xiaoji and suddenly found that Mu Xiaoji's gaze was still fixed on Teng Zijing, with obvious surprise in his eyes.
His heart skipped a beat. He nudged Teng Zijing with his elbow and asked in a low voice, "Hey, you two know each other?"
Teng Zijing glanced at him sideways, as if he were looking at a brainless idiot, but still didn't say anything.
Ji Yang, annoyed by his gaze, poked Teng Zijing hard with his elbow again.
She pursed her lips and turned her head away, but her heart was pounding—there was definitely something fishy going on between these two.
The air in the banquet hall grew increasingly oppressive. The light from the crystal chandelier shone on everyone's faces, but it couldn't dispel the gloom in their eyes.
Mu Xiaoji leaned against the cold wall, moving her wrists which were bound and numb, her gaze once again secretly sweeping towards Teng Zijing's direction.
He saw Teng Zijing's fingers tapping lightly on his wristwatch, the rhythm strange yet regular.
Mu Xiaoji's heart skipped a beat.
That's Morse code.
