Chapter 240: Get to the bottom of it
Hogwarts was in a frenzy. Parents who came to the school were received by several professors and were allowed to stay until after lunch as an exception.
During this period, Gloria and Professor McGonagall, the acting headmaster, promised that the school would compensate the injured students, and when they appealed, they would seek compensation and due apology from the Ministry of Magic for the students.
Of course, parents will not miss the opportunity to hold the Ministry of Magic accountable.
When Gloria finished dealing with these things, she came out and saw Harry and his group who had been waiting at Professor McGonagall's door, and Draco who was far away from them.
"Go to the secret room?" she asked, spreading her hands.
The three of them nodded excitedly.
Draco walked forward and took her hand.
I couldn't avoid all kinds of questions along the way, such as when I started preparing for this plan, how I got the parents to school, and why I was able to get those unburned quills in the end.
They asked questions one after another, and Gloria had no time to answer, but fortunately they arrived at the secret room.
After she sat down, she said, "Take your time to ask. I still have time to answer your questions."
"Quills!" Hermione was most curious about this question. "Given Umbridge's personality, if she knew the parents were coming, she would definitely watch all the quills burn."
"It's easy," said Gloria. "Thanks to Mr. Filch."
Harry and Ron looked at each other. Ron was puzzled. "Filch is obviously in cahoots with her."
"Occasionally," Draco blurted out.
Gloria explained, "Mr. Filch and I have a good relationship, so I asked him to keep an eye on Umbridge's things, such as the quill. After he gained her trust, he was able to enter and leave the office, and of course he also got the evidence."
The boy said lazily, "Do you think Filch hates everyone?"
Filch's betrayal to help Gloria was unexpected but understandable, as they remembered that at the end of their second grade, Gloria had contracted to provide all of Mrs. Norris' food for the rest of her life.
"I've made two preparations. Even if the quill in the fireplace burns out, Filch will find the right time to throw the evidence in. Who cares about his whereabouts?"
In fact, Gloria had more preparations. Even if Filch was unwilling to take risks, she still had her elves.
Gloria said: "Umbridge was in a hurry to get out and asked Filch to watch by the fireplace. He pushed a few of them aside and Professor McGonagall found them successfully."
Harry and Ron were stunned.
"So that's how it is." Hermione couldn't hide her happiness, but then she began to worry, "But... there's not much time left before the OWL exam. Is it too late to find a teacher now?"
Ron sighed, "Instead of looking for a teacher at this time, why don't we continue the gathering organized by the DA."
It also takes time to find a teacher at this point.
"How do you know if you don't try?" Gloria remained optimistic. She believed in Headmaster Dumbledore's vast network of contacts.
Ron looked at her with shining eyes, "Leah, is that agreement real, or is it just to scare Umbridge?"
Draco rolled his eyes at him.
"It's true." She took out the parchment and pointed to the time below the signature. "Fortunately, Salazar forced the Wizarding Association to sign this agreement, but later he fell out with the other three founders and took this away with him, fearing that they would destroy the agreement."
Draco said coldly, "Wise behavior."
"In short, the Ministry of Magic cannot and has no position to send any more officials here." Gloria put away the agreement. "I will take a leave of absence to deal with these matters and try to get Headmaster Dumbledore back to school before the end of the holiday."

After leaving the school, Umbridge secretly looked for Fudge, but left soon after.
After finishing her school work, Gloria immediately went to the Ministry of Magic to borrow the fireplace in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Office.
As soon as the door was closed, a beetle flew down from the cabinet and turned into a human form.
Rita adjusted her glasses. "Ms. Slytherin, can my report really be sent out?"
Gloria already knew about her Animagus form when it appeared in Hagrid's Hut last year, so Rita no longer hid it.
"That's why I'm going to the Ministry of Magic to make the situation more chaotic so that he won't have time to take care of these things." She said, "Besides, so many parents have witnessed it with their own eyes. If Fudge stops the Daily Prophet, it will only make the parents more angry."
Rita then revealed a satisfied look. "In that case, I will go back and write the report immediately. I will cooperate immediately if possible and interview Fudge at the same time."
Gloria said nothing, but took out a handful of Floo powder, entered the fireplace and headed for the Ministry of Magic.
Seeing the familiar main hall, she walked over to the table with the security check, "I need to see Fudge."
The wizard who was sitting and reading a newspaper stood up immediately when he saw her and asked, "Have you made an appointment?"
"No." Gloria shook her head. "But the situation is urgent. Regarding Umbridge, I need to meet with Fudge to discuss the follow-up issues."
They had heard a little about what Umbridge had done, and heard that it had caused a big disaster, and the minister was still in a meeting with other officials.
"I need to consult the minister."
Gloria stood with her hands behind her back, her eyes scanning everyone coming and going in the main hall.
"Miss Slytherin, Minister Fudge invites you in. The office is on the first floor."
She nodded slightly, "Okay, thank you."
The minister's office was not difficult to find. Gloria arrived at the first floor and found a sign marked "Minister's Office" in the corridor on the right.
Apparently the office door was not closed tightly, and through the crack in the door, she saw Conrad's back.
"You shouldn't interfere with Hogwarts' education. Now that Slytherin has taken out the magic agreement, I checked the information kept by the Wizarding Association and found that there is indeed such an agreement."
"Once she activates it, you, as the minister and supreme leader, will be the first to suffer the backlash of the magic."
"Fudge, don't force her to activate the agreement. They have been living in peace for more than a thousand years, but you interfered with the school and caused such a big scandal."
Fudge said irritably, "I didn't know she would do that!"
It was all meaningless conversation. Gloria closed the door gently and knocked twice.
The door opened in less than a second.
"Miss Slytherin, you are here."
Fudge saw that her expression was very awkward, and he was so angry that his teeth were itching, but he had to put on a smiling face to greet her.
"Gloria, thank you so much for revealing the truth, otherwise I would still be kept in the dark."
"Really?" She frowned slightly, as if she didn't believe it.
"Of course it's true. I only appointed her as the principal to manage the school. I didn't expect her to be so vicious." Fudge looked betrayed. "I am the minister. I know best what the consequences of doing these illegal things will be."
"We are all shocked by this incident." A senior official stood up and said: "We were just discussing how to handle the incident."
Gloria knew that this incident alone would not be enough to bring down Fudge. After all, there was no correspondence or other evidence to show that Fudge knew about it.
Besides, he really couldn't do such a thing.
"I'm glad the Minister is not an accomplice," she said, "but Umbridge must be brought to justice. She has broken the law and the Ministry of Magic cannot allow such a person to continue to serve as an official."
Fudge's face was a little stiff, "Of course not."
