Chapter 291 The great revenge is avenged

Chapter 291 The great revenge is avenged

Unable to resist, Badr clutched his head and roared, "What did you do to me?!"

With a cruel smile, Agreed explained to him, "This is a little trick I learned from the arrogant demon 'Lucifer.' You can think of that seed as a branch of my power. This seed will enter your body, take root in your godhood, absorb your divine power while tormenting your soul, making you suffer in the pain of your soul burning forever until you die!"

How about it? This is a new skill I specially developed for you. Doesn't it sound interesting? Hehehehehehehe

Argreed couldn't help but laugh out loud at the thought of Badr's miserable state; today was definitely the happiest day of his life since becoming a god.

The seed within Baldr's body also activated at the opportune moment, and at the same time, cruel pain began to emanate from his soul. Baldr, in excruciating agony, began to frantically dart about in the void, trying to alleviate the pain. At this moment, Agreed brutally grabbed Baldr, repeatedly tearing off pieces of his flesh and then quietly waiting for the runes to restore his body. This repeated itself, as if torturing Baldr's body with a thousand cuts. Given the difference in strength, Baldr was completely unable to resist. The dual torment of his body and soul left him no time to adapt, and he could only writhe his body like a worm, as if this could shake off the pain.

Agred played with Baldr in his hands as if it were a musical instrument. He even began to study how to make Baldr's screams more rhythmic and varied. He even... he even tried to play a song with Baldr's screams!

Unfortunately, the 'instrument' in Agred's hands was very difficult to control. Agred spent a lot of effort to master it. He practiced for this 'instrument' for who knows how long, because it is difficult to control the passage of time in the void. It could be three days or two and a half years. Who knows?

However, Baldr should be the most qualified to speak on this matter, since he could truly feel the passage of time under this seemingly endless pain. Every millisecond was an ordeal for him. During this time, Baldr did consider suicide and even wanted to self-destruct to end it all, but Agreed had already sealed his godhood and body. In other words, he didn't even have the right to commit suicide.

However, Baldr's body and soul still had their limits. Finally, one day, even the body and soul of the God of Light reached the limit of collapse. Agred could only be forced to end this torment that he found so pleasurable. Agred sighed with lingering satisfaction. This level was far from reaching his limit of cruelty, but unfortunately, Baldr's soul had its limits.

This prompted Agreed to curse, "What a piece of trash. All he knows is bullying the weak. Fine, I'll take pity on you and send you on your final journey."

By this time, Badr had long lost the will to resist. To be honest, it was already great news for him that Agred was willing to give him a quick death. At this point, Badr's body had been largely petrified and turned grayish-white due to the corruption caused by Agred's false authority. It seemed that the slightest touch would cause it to crumble into powder. It could be said that Badr was now completely broken except for his head.

Agreed looked at the green shrub that had sprouted on Baldr's chest, on which divine fruits, born from Baldr's divine power and soul energy, hung vividly on branches that seemed about to collapse at any moment.

Agreed gently fiddled with the shrubs growing on Baldr's body, as if he had thought of something and discussed it with Baldr: "Hey, you know what? These growths on you look a bit like a shrub called 'Mistletoe' from my hometown. Inspired by you, I've come up with a nice and easy-to-remember name for this trick: 'Mistletoe'! What do you think of this name? If you agree, I'll kill you as a reward, how about that?"

Baldr, already tormented beyond recognition, nodded frantically in agreement to the name. The pain rendered him unable to utter a sound. He no longer dared to defy Agred's words. Baldr's inner monologue was simply, "Whatever you say, just give me a quick death, I beg you!"

After nodding a few times with his last bit of strength, Badr suddenly became lifeless and motionless. Agreed, seeing this, said knowingly, "His soul has dissipated. Oh dear, he accidentally broke his toy."

After saying that, Agreed roughly plucked the Divine Power Fruit and stuffed it into his mouth. The divine power of the God of Light, Baldr, was instantly absorbed by Agreed and used for his own purposes. Baldr's body was completely shattered into dust due to the fruit's separation and disappeared into the vast void. Only the beautiful shrub that stubbornly survived after the Divine Power Fruit was picked remained in the place.

The monster leaders stood silently by Agred's side after the battle. After Agred tortured Badr to death, everyone followed Agred back to Musurida. Warwick stayed by Agred's side because he could sense that Agred's emotions had become particularly sorrowful and agitated after killing Badr.

As Warwick had predicted, after returning to the Prime Material Plane, Agreed immediately shrunk his body back to his former human form and ran back to the palace he hadn't been to in a long time. He pushed open the door to his bedroom, and what came into view was a stone statue. The statue depicted a mother holding her daughter in her arms, her expression pained, as the light burned her.

Agreed knelt before the statue and wept uncontrollably, whether in remembrance or grief, it was unclear. Agreed took out the bush from which he had killed Baldr and placed it in front of the statue. The avenging of his great grudge did not bring him much joy, because Agreed understood that the pain of the past could not be changed. He came here only to bid farewell to the past completely. He knew in his heart that it was time to let go of some hatred and the past. It was painful, but he had to do it.

Warwick watched silently as his master wept and even repented before the statue until Agred vented his emotions and left dejectedly. Warwick simply stood there, seemingly watching from a lonely perspective, trying to understand Agred's loneliness and suffering. Only after Agred brushed past him did Warwick turn around and look at his master's retreating figure with a heavy heart, pondering what kind of experiences could have created such a great deity.

Since then, the World Tree has completely lost control of the entire multiverse, which has been taken over by the Kingdom of All Races, and the Golden Forest Age has thus reached its peak.
