Chapter 133 Old Friends of Siming
Chapter 133 Old Friends of Siming
Zhang Liangjun asked nervously, "What happened to you?"
"Us?" Andy thought for a moment, then realized who Zhang Liangjun was referring to, and explained, "I just arrived at Shengxuan. Xiaotong and Xiaoxiao should be at the company by now, right? Why don't you come to Shengxuan first? Someone here died from overwork last night."
"Okay, wait for me a moment!" Zhang Liangjun said, picking up his car keys and preparing to go downstairs.
As soon as I reached the stairwell, I overheard Qu Xiaoxiao whispering, "Sister Xiaotong, have you thought this through? What if it doesn't work out, then..."
"Don't worry, I've got it figured out. With his stubborn personality, if we keep waiting, who knows when we'll finally see him again!" Ji Xiaotong's voice came through.
Fortunately, Zhang Liangjun had very sensitive hearing, otherwise he wouldn't have heard such a quiet conversation. He deliberately stomped his foot loudly to let the two know someone was approaching. Qu Xiaoxiao and Ji Xiaotong immediately stopped talking, and when they saw Zhang Liangjun appear from around the corner, Qu Xiaoxiao immediately greeted him warmly, "Teacher Zhang, are you going out?"
Zhang Liangjun nodded and explained to the two, "There's been a bit of a problem with Andy, I'll go check on her. Xiaotong, Xiaoxiao, come to my place for dinner tonight. Guanguan and Yingying are moving in." The elevator arrived, and Zhang Liangjun stepped inside, waving his hand to close the doors.
Qu Xiaoxiao decided not to discuss matters in public this time. She followed Ji Xiaotong to the office and asked, "Sister Xiaotong, what's wrong with Teacher Zhang? He's like a completely different person lately! Guan Guan and Ying Ying... what do I lack compared to them?"
Ji Xiaotong also rested her chin on her hand, her brows furrowed. "It is indeed very strange. Ever since I met a few people from Ode to Joy, it's like a switch has been flipped! But it's not all bad. In the end, I found out that you, Teacher Zhang, are not a gentleman either! The difficulty seems to have been reduced quite a bit."
"Sister Xiaotong, if you succeed, please take me under your wing!"

Upon arriving at Shengxuan Group, before even reaching Andy's office, Zhang Liangjun encountered reporters in the office area, pretending to interview a junior leader of Shengxuan with a microphone.
Upon seeing Andy, Zhang Liangjun embraced her intimately, offering her a wisp of pure yang energy. Andy blushed and pushed him away; her office had glass walls, offering no privacy whatsoever.
Seeing that Andy was in a stable mood, Zhang Liangjun asked, "Didn't you go to the resort yesterday? Why is this person working overtime last night?"
"It's because of this employee. He spends a lot of time trading stocks during the day and researching them, which means he has to work at night. He often makes data errors because he's not focused. I've thought about replacing him three times, but he's a long-time employee, and I'm only helping Lao Tan temporarily, so I haven't taken any action against HR." Andy also said with some helplessness.
As they were talking, Tan Zongming walked in. "Liangjun's here too! Well, I've heard from the board of directors that you should probably keep an eye on things lately, Andy. There's some news that some employees' family members have leaked information to the media about the overtime work, probably because they want more compensation!"
Zhang Liangjun, however, checked the office surveillance video on his phone. The video was very clear, showing seven hours of work time, and the person spent four hours fiddling with stock trading software. "Take a look at this surveillance video first! I'll project it onto the computer for you!" Zhang Liangjun said, pointing to the office computer in front of Andy.
After a few taps on his phone, Andy's computer, which had been in standby mode, automatically turned on and started playing the video Zhang Liangjun had edited. The video was playing at double speed and finished quickly.
"I knew it! You left a backdoor in the firewall!" Tan Zongming laughed. "I knew you were being kind by giving me software! Have you been secretly spying on Andy every day?"
Andy knew Tan Zongming was joking with Zhang Liangjun, so he didn't pay attention to Tan Zongming's words. Instead, he asked Zhang Liangjun, "Is it enough to just hand this video over to the media?"
Zhang Liangjun held up three fingers. “Three options. The first is to show the video to the man’s family and ask them to withdraw their accusations against the company and apologize. Otherwise, we’ll let the whole internet know that this man was slacking off during work hours. The second is to show it directly to reporters, give them some running errand fees and compensation, and let the matter drop. The third… is to wait until this matter blows up before releasing the video, stepping on his corpse to raise the company’s profile to another level.”
After Zhang Liangjun finished explaining the plan, he looked at Tan Zongming, waiting for him to make a choice.
Tan Zongming pondered for a moment, "Then let's show it to the reporters and the family. Liu Siming has been with the company for many years, and his family situation isn't very good. We were originally planning to give him some compensation, otherwise it would be too disheartening! Of course, this compensation will definitely be less than what is actually for a work injury."
Zhang Liangjun didn't have much of an opinion on Tan Zongming's choice, but Tan Zongming ultimately considered the matter from a businessman's perspective. Of course, Tan Zongming is indeed a businessman, which is understandable. Many people say Tan Zongming is very cold-blooded, only caring about Andy's reputation after his employee's sudden death. But in reality, Andy was Tan Zongming's good friend, while Liu Siming was just a subordinate with a casual relationship, often slacking off at work to do other things. It's clear who was closer and who was less close. At most, out of respect for the deceased, he might offer some condolences, but the past is forgotten.
"Alright, leave this to Lao Tan. I'm leaving now. Be careful!" Zhang Liangjun said, having accomplished his mission, patting Andy on the backside as he prepared to leave.
Andy spoke first, "Liangjun, I want to talk to you!"
Tan Zongming noticed that Andy was preoccupied, so he said, "Don't go to work today, Andy. You and Liangjun should go home first!"
Instead of letting Zhang Liangjun drive the car home, Andy found a riverside park, and the two got out of the car and walked along the path to the small square.
Coincidentally, this is the place where we first met Ji Xiaotong. It's also the closest park to Zhong Xiaoqin's parents' house.
Andy stood at the spot where Zhang Liangjun had wanted to jump on his first day in Shanghai, his hands pressed against the white marble railing, looking out at the shimmering river. "Liangjun, I've thought about it for a long time! I think I might not want children anymore!"
“You still don’t believe that you’re a genius? You still think you’re going crazy? But actually your grandma is an art genius, and you’re a math genius. Although your mom didn’t find anything, I don’t think it’s as simple as two people being ‘crazy’!” Zhang Liangjun wasn’t lying to Andy; he genuinely believed that Andy’s genes were extraordinary.
Andy smiled. "Genius or madman, I don't want to continue like this. If I can live an ordinary life, I don't think I'll refuse. But if it still requires taking risks, I don't want my child to live in fear anymore, nor do I want him to feel like an outsider from a young age!"
"So, you want to talk about this today?" Zhang Liangjun took off his coat and draped it over Andy's shoulders.
